Katia Liguori

An eclectic musician with a rock soul, open to music in all its forms, not only as an instrumentalist but also as a composer and arranger. She encountered music at the age of six, studying classical piano for five years. She later discovered the world of contemporary and rock music, trying her hand as a guitarist in a few local bands. In 2010, she was struck by a passion for the electric bass. She attended various courses with esteemed teachers such as Paolo Polifrone and Mitia Maccaferri, and workshops with Faso, Stefano De Donato, Dino Fiorenza, and Massimo Moriconi. Deciding to further her studies, she graduated from NAM Milano under the tutelage of Fabio Longo. Subsequently, she continued to study to maximise her knowledge of improvisation techniques with the master Vincenzo Maurogiovanni. Her passion for music has led her to perform with satisfaction in various cover and tribute bands, which have allowed her to gain extensive live experience and to personalise her own style. Her desire to experiment has recently led to the release of some tracks under the pseudonym Kaita (a work she wrote, arranged, and performed entirely on her own) and with the group RobKat. She also undertakes private teaching and works with cultural associations.
